The W Hotel and "ACL Live" Keep Austin Rockin' and Rollin'!

Austin recently welcomed a brand new 37-story W Hotel to the city, which makes it the 4th tallest building in Austin! Earvin "Magic" Johnson's investment company is the primary investor of the 250 hotel room and 160 condominium building. Even more exciting is that it houses the Moody Theater - the new state-of-the-art Austin City Limits Live studio! The new theater and studio holds 2,750 fans (up from 320 at it's previous location at the University of Texas Austin).

Moody Theater hosts concerts, events, and the famous KLRU ACL tapings - the longest running music series in American television history.

Formula 1 Grand Prix Vrrroooms into Austin!

Formula 1 United States Grand Prix have announced an historic agreement for Austin, Texas to serve as the host city for the notorious races from 2012 through 2021. AlliedPRA Austin at the 2010 Southwest Showcase!!

AlliedPRA Austin had the unique opportunity to join the Austin Convention and Visitors Bureau's booth at the 2010 Southwest Showcase on February 4th. As always, our team loves to stay involved and keep up-to-date with industry happenings. Grace Allen, AlliedPRA Austin's Operations Manager, attended on the office's behalf. She enjoyed break outs such as, "Social Media & Meetings" presented by Hugh Lee. She also found out about some great new local Austin music talent.

Austin Gets Funky & Luxe!

Adding to Austin’s already very dynamic and fascinating make-up, two of the newest developing areas bring one-part funky and one-part luxe!

Austin’s Eastside keeps Austin weird with art studios, eclectic restaurants, cozy wine bars, and the now well-known Eastside Studio Tour. The area has slowly changed over the years, boasting culture aplenty just east of downtown. Here you can find delicious vegan Mexican food, vintage LPs and 45’s, edgy bookstores and the French Legation Museum — just to name a handful!

The 2nd Street District has brought luxury to Austin like never before. Fusing the Old with the New!

The Seaholm Power Plant site is a "future urban oasis on the Southwestern edge of downtown Austin.” The long-dormant power plant site, built in the 1950s, is transforming into place for Austinites to live, work, play and shop. The 7.8-acre site will feature a office space, retail shops, condos, a boutique hotel, special event space and a view of Lady Bird Johnson lake. The completed development is expected to create more than 200 jobs and produce $2 million a year in tax revenue.
