PEOPLE MAKE THE DIFFERENCE

Della Guidry, Global DMC Professional

Della Guidry

After a long day at the office, I enjoy massages and pedicures.  Also, when I’m not getting a massage, I love to unwind with a good book and listen to light jazz.  On the weekends, I like to shop at the Alon HEB grocery store and go home to cook some of the fresh food. Some of my favorite foods are seafood, leafy vegetables, beets, and various types of bread.  I enjoy seeing my husband’s face glow when he receives a good cooked meal.  We enjoy exploring new restaurants and eating good food together.

Top places to eat

Moonshine, Downtown Austin

Built in the late 1800’s, this lovely historic home offers southern cooking. A must try is the Baked Macaroni with Pimento Cheese & Bacon Gratin. Heaven!

Bess Bistro, Downtown Austin

Owned by actress Sandra Bullock, the restaurant’s cuisine can’t quite be classified, but we guarantee you won’t be disappointed with whatever you choose from the menu! Heaven in your mouth.

Chuy’s

You can’t come to Austin and not have Tex-Mex. One of our favorites is the Big as Yo Face Burrito.

Salt Lick

With two locations, both are right outside of Austin, but definitely worth the trip. See how much your stomach can manage after ordering a “family style” plate – all you can eat beef brisket, sausage, pork ribs, potato salad, cole slaw, and beans all slathered with their famous bbq sauce!

Hopdoddy, South Congress

Hopdoddy prides themselves on their fresh, all-natural ingredients. Buns are baked from scratch in-house, they use hormone/antibiotic-free beef, and cut their own fries. The burgers taste divine – best in town!

Sao Paolo’s

An Austin original, Sao Paolo’s offers a menu of authentic Brazilian food peppered with some tex-mex dishes. And of course, it wouldn’t be Austin without some live music while you dine!

24 Diner

As the name suggests, the restaurant is open 24 hours. The menu boasts chef-inspired, classic American comfort food in a modern diner atmosphere. Menus are rotated according to season and local produce availability.

Shadygrove, Barton Springs

Enjoy groovy tunes and delicious food under the tree-shaded patio. The crown jewel is the Tortilla Fried Queso Catfish!

Torchy’s Tacos, South First St.

All taco lovers will enjoy the Chips & Green Chile Queso and the Dirty Sanchez tacos! Oh yeah, don’t forget to top your tasty tacos with extra “to die for” Tomatillo Sauce!

Stubb’s BBQ, Downtown Austin

Stubb’s is ground zero for musicians like Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, and Stevie Ray Vaughn. A place filled with great music and plenty of Bar-B-Q to enjoy indoors or outdoors.
