National Sales Manager

We are looking for a National Sales Manager to join our New England team. This position is responsible for achieving the Performance Team Sales and Gross Profit Objectives by selling AlliedPRA’s outstanding service to corporate and association clients. This position is responsible for developing a client base, working with the account management and operations team to design meaningful client experiences and build long-term client relationships.

Major Areas of Responsibility:

  • Develop and sell to a client base through leads from assigned markets, hoteliers, cold calls, referrals, etc.
  • Identify and generate new business opportunities for the office
  • Initiate sales calls and follow up.
  • Qualify leads and develop creative program ideas for clients
  • Initiate a tracking method to respond to all referral leads from hotels and clients.
  • Oversee the sales process and work with both account management and operations to ensure completion of client proposals both on time and on budget
  • Full understanding of the proposal process and able to assist in proposal writing and event costing when needed
  • Ensure that all proposals and other sales correspondence are correct, proofed, and meet clients’ needs and budgets
  • Maintain relationship with client once program is turned over to account management and operations
  • Finalize and “close” program contracts with clients, arranging for deposits and signed program services agreements
  • Work with account managers and operations managers to meet client expectations and create memorable customer experiences.
  • Ensure that sales/gross profit goals are met and clients’ programs exceed their expectations.
  • Be available to assist with program operations
  • Anticipate and proactively address any issues that may arise
  • Execute client site visits throughout New England, entertain clients and develop a personal rapport with them
  • Represent AlliedPRA at key association and industry groups through membership and active participation.
  • Remain current and knowledgeable of global industry trends and developments.
  • Maintain general knowledge of New England hotels, venues, décor, entertainment, etc.
  • Update hoteliers and clients on a regular basis on new venues, services and destinations.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or requested.

Qualifications: Our ideal candidate should possess strong organizational abilities, excellent sales and client service skills, and leadership skills. The National Sales Manager is an integral part of our successful and creative Performance Team. Our successful candidate must have at least 5 or more years experience in sales, preferably in destination management, incentive travel, event management or related field.

A college degree in Business Management, Marketing or related degree is helpful. Must have knowledge of program design and development, from inception through contract. Proven ability to meet sales goals consistently through lead development, cold calling and client development.

Must be familiar with Boston, Providence, Newport and Connecticut venues and live in the Boston area. No relocation.
