New Orleans

Repurposed with a Purpose

Some 170 years ago an entrepreneur named James Caldwell opened his American Theatre on Camp Street, lighting a path with his innovative gas chandeliers. Spurred by success, he founded the New Orleans Gas Light Co, making New Orleans one of the first cities in the U.S. to have a public gas system. Fast forward to 2017 and that same historic property has transformed into what will soon be one of New Orleans’s newest and most glamorous hotels in the Crescent City. Set to open this spring, the NOPSI Hotel is an architecturally unique, industrially elegant, nine-story brick building which has returned to its previous splendor and converted into a luxury 217-room hotel.

Located in the heart of the vibrant and convenient Central Business District, NOPSI is just two blocks from Canal Street and the bustling French Quarter. Guests are within a short walk to Bourbon Street, the Warehouse District and the Garden District, close proximity to the streetcar line and blocks from Lafayette Square and most major attractions. With richly appointed boardrooms and over 14,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor function space, NOPSI offers a popular destination for corporate and association meetings. Whether it is the 4,000-square-foot Grand Ballroom, meetings rooms, the Courtyard Garden, the Rooftop Bar & Terrace, or the hotel’s fine dining restaurant– Public Service, the property, offers everything needed to create a quality meeting or event.

Having been named among the “Best Affordable Destinations in the USA” by U.S. News and World Report, as well as one of the “Best Cities for Culture in the U.S.” by Travel + Leisure, there are more reasons than one to visit New Orleans. And, with the opening of NOPSI Hotel this spring, New Orleans is the hottest meeting spot, generating an energetic representation of the city.
